Josh Beckett went five and two-thirds of an inning in his first start with the Dodgers, but Los Angeles fell 10-0.

Josh Beckett pitched 5.2 innings in his first appearance with the Los Angeles Dodgers and generally performed well, giving up three runs. But the Dodgers caved thanks to a seven-run eighth inning and were blown out 10-0.

Beckett gave up an opening home run to Tyler Colvin in the game's first at-bat, but settled down and sat down the next six batters in order.

Beckett then gave up a hit and a walk in the third inning and got out of trouble, but then a Chris Nelson triple set up a D.J. LeMahieu RBI single to shallow center to make it 2-0. A few singles in the bottom of the sixth inning (including an RBI from Josh Rutledge) would finally force Beckett out of the game. He finished with seven hits and three walks given up, as well as the three earned runs on 108 pitches. Beckett struck out six.

The Dodgers were doomed by their lack of offense, as Jeff Francis and the Rockies bullpen combined for a complete-game shutout. Francis lasted five innings, giving up three hits and striking out six. The bullpen did the rest, combining for only one hit allowed in four innings. The Rockies blasted the game open in the bottom of the eighth, piling on seven runs with another LeMahieu RBI single, a Colvin two-RBI triple, a Jordan Pacheco RBI double and a Wilin Rosario two-run homer.

Talk about the result with Dodgers fans at True Blue LA, and with Rockies fans at Purple Row.
