Entering this season, Shelby Miller was the jewel of the Cardinals' farm system. Baseball America said he was the eighth-best prospect in baseball. John Sickels ranked him No. 2 among pitching prospects, behind only Matt Moore.
Miller came into the season with a 3.17 professional ERA, and he'd given up only 11 home runs in 247 innings.
This year, he's given up 20 home runs in 106 triple-A innings, and he's got a 5.25 ERA.
