Houston Astros relief pitcher Mickey Storey took a line drive to the face on Wednesday night off the bat of the Chicago Cubs' Dave Sappelt.

Houston Astros reliever Mickey Storey was struck by a Dave Sappelt line drive in the eighth inning of Wednesday night's game against the Chicago Cubs. The ball appeared to hit him in the right shoulder and then the right side of his face.

Storey did not leave the field immediately. He hunched down and held his hand to his head before dropping to the ground when trainers arrived and eventually walking off with them. He suffered a contusion in his right hand and the right side of his jaw, according to MLB.com's Brian McTaggert.

Video of the play can be seen on MLB.com:

Storey was replaced by Jose Valdez. The Cubs lead 5-1 in the top of the ninth inning.
