The Angels salvaged the series finale over their AL West foes.

The Oakland Athletics saw their six-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday afternoon as they fell to the Los Angeles Angels by a score of 6-0. The game remained tied until late, but L.A. pulled away with a six-run seventh inning to snap their own three-game losing skid.

Jered Weaver was terrific yet again, tossing seven shutout innings. He struck out nine and surrendered just two hits and a walk. He picked up his 17th win of the season and lowered his ERA to 2.74. Brett Anderson pitched very well until things took a turn for the worst in the seventh inning. Anderson ended up working 6.2 innings of five-run ball, giving up nine hits and a walk. He struck out five.

Torii Hunter hit a solo home run in the seventh to get the scoring started. Mark Trumbo then singled home Erick Aybar to make it 2-0. With the bases loaded and two outs, Alberto Callaspo singled through the right side to plate two more runs. Another run came in to score on a wild pitch, and after Albert Pujols walked it was Hunter who plated the sixth run of the inning with an RBI-single to center field.

The Angels bullpen worked two scoreless innings of relief to secure the 6-0 victory. The club will now head to Kansas City for a three-game series with the Royals. The A's welcome in the red-hot Orioles to town for what should be a great series in Oakland.
