Adam Dunn hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Chicago White Sox a 5-4 win Monday evening over the Cleveland Indians. It was Dunn's second homer of the game and his 41st of the season. The win means the White Sox maintain their one-game lead over the Detroit Tigers, who beat the Royals earlier.
Dan Johnson drew a one-out walk to start the eighth-inning rally. After an Alejandro De Aza ground out, Kevin Youkilis hit an infield single, bringing Dunn to the plate and setting up the heroics.
Chris Sale pitched seven innings, but left trailing 3-2 due to a Russ Canzler two-run home run in the 6th. Brett Myers picked up the victory in relief.
The Indians scored one in the ninth on a double by Shin-Soo Choo off Donnie Veal, but Veal retired Jason Kipnis on a grounder to second for the game's final out.
