Adam Dunn breaks his own record ...

... for lowest batting average by a player who hit 40 home runs or more in a season. When Dunn smacked his 40th Monday night, his .210 average shattered the record he set for such things in 2006 (.234) -- and there's no way he'll add 24 points to his BA in the remaining nine games, so this mark is safe.

Curtis Granderson also might sneak in below Dunn's 2006 mark; he's got 40 dingers this year with a .231 batting average.
