Freddie Freeman hits two-run blast; Atlanta clinches NL Wild Card berth beating the Marlins, 4-3

Freddie Freeman hit a two-run walk-off homer in the ninth, helping the Atlanta Braves clinch one of two N.L. Wild Card spots with a 4-3 win over the Miami Marlins Tuesday at Turner Field. It was Freeman's 22nd blast of the season.

The bottom of the ninth started with a double to right-center field by Chipper Jones, off reliever Mike Dunn, who blew his fifth save this year. Freeman took his turn and Dunn threw a wild pitch, which moved Jones to third. With a 1-1 pitch, Freeman sent it to deep center field to end the game -- giving the Braves a new ticket to the postseason, one year after a disappointing collapse.

This was the 22nd consecutive win for Atlanta in a game started by Kris Medlen, who allowed three runs and fanned eight in seven innings. Craig Kimbrel earned the win after tossing a shutout ninth inning with one hit and a strikeout.
