In honor of Presidents' Day

Stay connected for news and updates

We present the most presidential name in the history of baseball:

Calvin Coolidge Julius Caesar Tuskahoma McLish

Nickname: "Bus" or "Buster"? Oh, come on, people of the '40s. They didn't ration all of the good nicknames, too.

McLish was a pretty unique player, too. He threw 258 miserable innings before he was 30 (5.88 ERA for three different teams) and languished in Triple-A for several years, but he rebounded to get some MVP votes in his age-32 and age-33 seasons with the Indians.

His name is still the best part of the story, though.
