So I'm finally watching the first episode of The Next Knuckler, and the action's in Vero Beach Sports Village ... formerly known as the legendary Dodgertown, spring-training home of the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers from 1948 through 2008, after which the Dodgers eschewed tradition and moved to the far western reaches of Phoenix, Arizona.
Anyway, I was looking up Dodgertown and discovered something I'd never known ... there is still a Dodgertown Elementary School ("Home of the Little Dodgers"), replete with all sorts of wonderful baseball images. I know it doesn't make a lick of sense for Dodgertown Elementary School to keep its name, because the children will grow up with absolutely no connection to the tradition-eschewing, geographically remote Los Angeles Dodgers.
But consider this item one man's vote for tradition, smack in the face of all logic.
