It's been a helluva long time since an actual Irish-born player made it to the major leagues, so, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, I'm choosing as my representative of all things Irish an American-born player of Irish descent who, to me, looks more Irish than any player I can recall. It's Bobby Kielty, of course; last seen in the major leagues providing a huge insurance run for the Red Sox with a pinch homer in Game 4 of the 2007 World Series.
Everybody has to have a final major league at bat and less than one percent of players get to choose when it come. So, if you're one of the vast majority that don't get to choose, I can't imagine a better way of going out than this:
