On Tuesday, the Houston Astros scored a season's worth of runs against the Seattle Mariners -- 16 of them, to be exact. There was a quirk in the box score, though: Five pitchers appeared for the Mariners, and all five gave up an earned run. Is this rare?

Not really. The record is seven pitchers with an earned run, and it's shared by several teams:
Cubs/Padres, 1977
Reds/Dodgers, 1949
Tigers/Angels, 2003
Tigers/Twins, 1996
Twins/Brewers, 2006
Marlins/Nationals, 2005
That last one was so wild that Mike Stanton pitched an inning for the Nationals. Man, that must have been nuts.
The important thing is that the Astros scored 16 runs in Safeco Field.
