Ron Kulpa is a major-league umpire. Back in 2000, he got into a big thing with Carl Everett when Everett erased the line around the batter's box. I was actually there when it happened, and it was good. But until someone reminded me, I'd forgotten that Kulpa was the umpire.
Whenever I hear the name Kulpa, I flash back instead to this:
Hey, better to be remembered for that, however obliquely, than for this.
